We will open 2810: a community gathering place from 7:00-8:30 pm each Sunday night in January. There is no specific agenda or structure other than making space for prayer and worship.

Whether you feel called to sing, pray, journal, read scripture, or simply listen; our desire is that you actively engage with the Holy Spirit - This is an open time to worship in your own way. Come when you want and leave whenever you need.

While there will be no childcare, but please feel free to bring your family and model a posture of worship for your children.

Guys: Prep your stomachs, gather your crew, and join us for our annual Men's Chili Cook-off. Whether you're a master chef or just love devouring delicious chili, this event is for you! You don't need to enter a chili to enjoy the bowls of goodness. There will also be a cornhole tournament for those who'd rather compete for athletic prowess.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 chilis.

Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. Please register below to participate (eat) or compete. Drinks will be provided, along with TUMS for those who like it extra spicy!

NO WORSHIP SERVICE ON DECEMBER 29

Every year, we take the Sunday morning after Christmas to rest and spend time with our family and friends. Therefore, we will not have a worship service at the Byrd on Sunday, December 29th.

Instead, we hope to see you our Christmas Eve service on Tuesday, December 24th at 5 pm. Then, we will be gathering together again in the new year on Sunday, January 5th to begin a new message series called The Journey Ahead.

CHRISTMAS EVE: THE GREATEST GIFT

Join us for our annual Christmas Eve Service on Tuesday, December 24 at 5:00 PM at The Byrd Theatre! Invite your family and friends to join us, and come early to enjoy some hot cocoa and freshly made cookies. We are excited to welcome the A10 KIDS choir as a part of our worship band for this special occasion! We will wrap up our "He Shall Be Called Series with a message called "The Greatest Gift" as we celebrate the child who was predicted long ago in Isaiah 9:6, and talk about how we can still trust him today.

Please note: This service will be in-person only, with no A10 KIDS programming at 2810. Instead, children of all ages are welcome to join us at the Byrd Theatre as we celebrate Christmas Eve together as a faith community.

Enjoy delicious snacks and drinks to fuel your brainpower while embracing the holiday spirit. Don’t forget to wear your ugliest sweater or most festive attire—there might even be a prize for best team and best outfit! Bring your holiday cheer and trivia A-game; it’s going to be a night to remember! 

Kids are welcome to participate. You can play solo or as part of a team of up to six players.

We are creating space in Carytown to recall the story behind the Christmas lights with a night of worship and prayer in the open air. We are inviting our faith community and our neighbors to join us for an outdoor advent worship night, where we will sing familiar Christmas tunes, create crafts with friends and family, and pray over our city amidst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

So put on your mittens, grab a cup of cocoa, and join us at 6:30pm in the heart of Richmond as we celebrate love incarnate coming down to earth. 

Are you a sucker for Christmas music? Do you LOVE the time of year when you get to pull down all the holiday decor, string up garland, and trim the tree? Does your spouse adamantly oppose decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving but you just need to get those wiggles out?

Stick around on Sunday, November 24 after church to help us Deck the Halls as we decorate our beautiful space at 2810: a community gathering place for the holidays. Help us put together our 10ft Christmas tree, string garland along the banisters, and hang wreaths from every available surface. We will also be prepping our Advent Christmas ornaments as a gift for anyone participating in this year's Advent offering.

In December of 2023, we raised over $30,000 to serve three local community organizations, including the Replenish Foundation. One of the things we have been able to do with those funds is plan quarterly meal-packing events with Replenish to benefit kids experiencing food insecurity at Fox Elementary.

Our final serving opportunity for this year will be Sat, November 2 at 10am, where we will be able to pack snack bags for kids to take home with them on Fridays. This is a fun, family-friendly way to give back to our Richmond Community!

FAMILY "DRIVE IN" MOVIE NIGHT || Saturday, October 26

Invite your friends and family to join us for a showing of the movie "Cars 2" in our back courtyard from 7:00pm-9:00pm. This will be a FREE family movie night, drive-in style. To make this even more fun for families, we'll have a "paint your own box car" time from 6:00pm - 6:45pm.

Bring a cardboard box big enough for your kiddos to sit in, and we'll provide all of the paint and supplies. Our volunteers will help you transform those boxes into drive-in movie box cars. You can also bring your own blanket or cushion for your kiddo to sit on in their box, and some lawn chairs for you and your older kids. We'll also be providing concessions ($) for the movie. WOMEN'S HIKE & PICNIC AT MAYMONT

Ladies, let's get outside and stretch our legs! Join us on Saturday, October 26, a (hopefully) crisp fall morning to appreciate the wonder of God's creation as we marvel at the beauty of the changing of the seasons.

We will meet at the "Big Lot" entrance (1099 Spottswood Rd) by Maymont Farm at 10:00 am, and then go for a leisurely hike through the park. This 2.5-mile easy-to-moderate hike includes paved walkways with gradual elevation changes, except for the large staircase in the Italian Gardens.

Once we finish our autumnal hike, we will enjoy a well-earned meal together. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch and a blanket or chair so we can enjoy a meal together in the open air!

Please Note: This event is weather-dependent. Please sign up so we can reach out to you in case we have to cancel or reschedule the hike!

If you've been at Area 10 for a while but you’ve never come to our Partnership Class, then this is a great next step.

During the session, our team will share insights not only into our church's activities but also the reasons behind them. Discover our origins, core beliefs, vision for the community, and future plans. Additionally, explore how you can contribute your talents and experiences to collaborate with us in transform lives in the city, for the city. A10 MEN'S MINISTRY | WEENIE ROAST & GAME NIGHT

Guys - Let's hang out on Friday, October 4th at 2810: a community gathering place. We'll be roasting hot dogs on the grill, and we'll have a selection of board games, Mario Kart, and cornhole to play as we get to know each other better. We'll wrap the evening up around the fire pits with some s'mores.

You don't need to register for this event - Just show up. Feel free to bring a friend or two.

FAITH & FAMILY WORKSHOP: “Ready for College: Setting Up Seniors for Success"

After church on Sunday, September 22nd, Dominic Chasse will lead parents in discussing how to set up their high schoolers for future success, not just academically but also in their faith. This hour-and-a-half workshop, starting at 12 pm, will equip parents of high school students, allowing them to gain skills and resources that will help them instill in their kids how they can succeed in their young adult years and continue to develop a lasting and multiplying faith.

The deadline to register is Thursday, September 19th.
